Front Brake Line Rusted & Blew a Hole (Dealer or Bend & Flare?)
Hi everyone, so my 2000 yesterday blew a hole in its front right brake line from rust. I am looking at the manual and it doesn't actually show the run diagram for the lines surprisingly.
Looking at the factory manual pdf they don't actually have a picture of the brake tubing run which is odd.
Should I order these from the dealership or just bend my own?
Do the dealership ones come prebent with the flares already in place? Or do I have to flare the lines myself. Reason I ask is because I read on the forums that they have mixed flares (meaning bubble or inverted double flare). The manual mentions both types.

Hi Fcastro, I have 2 Dodges. Ram and a Durango and they both have had the same problem RUST. I had to redo the Brake lines on both of them. I did dend my own lines, but I did them in the covered brake lines. The up front cost is more, but you want have this problem again. AS for how the line is run , just remove the bad line and bend it just like the one or parts you remove. Take your time and you shouldn't have a problem
