No heat from the rear

No heat from the rear
Is there a separate heater core for the back seats heater? The rear blows cold even when turned up all the way. The AC does work and both vents blow cold, but the heater does not.
Is there some kind of diverter that isn't working, a failed heater core?
I'm not an expert and any thoughts would be appreciated.
Sincerely

You said 'AC works and both vents blow cold'. I assume 'both' meant the front and rear? If so, you obviously have a rear heater.
The easiest way to check for a rear core is look under the hood. On the pass side wheel well near the firewall is a small pump, heater hose in, heater hose out. If the leg from the pump to the firewall goes into a plastic 'Y', you have rear heat. One leg of the Y goes to the front firewall core, the other to the rear core.

looking at that pump is another way to determine it but it is not an easy part to locate and there have been reports(uncomfirmed afaik) that not all of the trucks have it.

Okay. Found the small pump on the passenger wheel well, and the 'Y' pipe with the two hoses, one going down thru the fire wall and one snaking toward the center of the fire wall then going thru. Also found four hard hoses on the frame rails, coming down from the fire wall on the passenger side with two jumping up near the middle seats, and the other two going up at the third seat. My Durango has a single set of rear controls above the middle seat if this helps.
I was hoping to find a broken or loose hose at 'Y' fitting, but did not.
The symptom is that no heat at all goes to the rear vents, either seat, no matter how I set the temperature, front controls or back.
Any suggestions is appreciated
