Default No Drive Condition with P1763 DTC

Can anyone tell me if a Governor Pressure Sensor / Pressure Solenoid cause a no drive condition? I have been getting P1762 and P1763 for some time now, but it usually goes into limp mode for a few and then resets and works fine following a restart. Today my wife was driving when the check engine light went on. 5 minutes later she called, said she heard a loud clunk and the vehicle would no longer move. Towed it home and have a P1763 DTC only. Am I going to fix this by replacing the sensors or did something actually break inside the tranny? (99 Dodge Durango 4x4 200k+. Thanks.

Drop the pan, and see what you find. With that many miles, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it weren't rebuild time.

I should have mentioned, rebuild installed about 20k ago. I am thinking that the normal result of these sensors malfuntioning is a limp mode, but still driveable. With a clunk and no drive, I am concerned something else happened, but most likely tied to the sensor failures in some way. Tranny fluid smells fresh, so not burnt, just a clunk and no drive. Thanks,

I'm going to move your post to the 1st Gen Durango section. No the sensor will not cause a no drive. Something else may have broken to cause you not to have any forward gears. Or do you have a forward gear, which would be either 2nd or 3rd starting off in.

Thank you for your response. No, the vehicle has no forward or reverse drive. It is not in limp mode, it just has not drive whatsoever. I figured it probably didn't have anything to do with the sensors, just thought it was ironic that the DTC was set only minutes prior to the failure and thought maybe there was some connection between the two.
