Alright guys i have an 03 durango and im not really sure why it happend but a lifter kicked a rocker and broke the lifter seat in the head.. Now the engine over heated for about 30 seconds before i shut her down to coast safely off the interstate what i am wondering is would the rocker coming off cause the engine to over heat ? Oil pressure remained fine through the whole process i am obsessed with checking guages so i know that was all good, engine has 209xxxx miles and this is the only major issue iv ever had out of it. Iv got the top,end torn down and im going to be pulling both heads tomorrow to see if the pistons are intact. In the last year i have replaced fan clutch,water pump,thermostat,upper and lower rad hose, but i am going to warrenty the water pump ust to be sure. Now would a,blown headgasket cause the rocker to kick off as the engine over heats ?
