TRANSMISSION TRUBLE
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

I FOUND I SHIFT KIT KOR THAT TRANS THAT REPLACES ALL THE SPRINGS WITH HEAVY DUTY SPRINGS AS WELL AS THE COVER.ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 45RFE TRANSMISSIONS. ONE OF THOSE THINGS THOUGH WHERE IT IS NOT COMMON ENOUGH OR IT IS NOT A SAFTY ISSUE TO DO A RECALL. THANKS DODGE...............
