Hi, we have a 2004 intrepid. reliable car but lot of miles. Driving along 40 mph then slow down to appx 25mph car transmission downshifts to first and won't go into 2nd unless you shut the car off and restart and it will do fine till you hit 40 again and slow to 25 downshift again. always shut off start up and its fine till you pass 40. is this going to be the transmission or the computer? anyone have this issue?

 

Did you get a trouble code P0700 too? If so you will need to replace your solenoid pack. On 02 to 04's, it 's a chronic problem.
