Its very possible that the synthetic oil cleaned alot of carbon deposit in the engine and now is circulation through the engine.

You could try and drain the oil and refill and see what happens.

would you recommend refilling with synthetic oil again or switching back to normal?

Refill with the synthetic. Run the car until the engine gets warm and then drain it.

no....the sensor was kind of loose which i think could have been an issue but i just replaced it anyways and now the car runs great
