Default problem

well I figured out the burning smell.It was coming from the driver side rear brake.After for driving for about 30 min,I could feel the intense heat coming from it,and the smell.I put a straw to it and it would melt it lol.Anyways last night driving home something weird was happening.The car started to buck,I was in 5th gear going about 40.It felt like the engine was gonna die.I downshifted into 4th and then it got worse.The check engine light then went on so I pulled over and shut it off.I started it back up and about 2 minutes later it started to do it again,again I shut it off while the car was driving and the problem went away.I found this weird,anyone have any ideas?I dont really know anything about cars,but the only thing I could think of was like a misfire?something to do with the spark plugs.

how many miles are on the car? check thecoolant level could be a timing belt too

the car has 142,000 miles on it.But the engine tranny and clutch only have 30,000 miles give or take a few.

well everytime you turn off the ignition the check engine light goes back off.It doesent go on when I start the car up again.bad thing though I just tried to drive and everytime I hit the gas the engine bogs down and is ready to die.Then when I actually try to move the car just completely stalls,and I cant move.

To read any codes on your neon, put the key in the ignition and cycle it to ACC on-off-on-off-on within 5 seconds. As the CEL flashes, count the number of flashes. This represents the code. An example would be flash-flash-flash-flash, pause, flash-flash-flash, which would be a Code 43, single or multiple cylinder misfire...

that sounds like a fuel pump "normal idle and sputtering when pressing the gas"
