Default will a 2nd gen motor fit in my first gen

im figureing that i can buy a new engine for about as much as it would cost to get mine fixed so what you think will it fit

I agree because the 2nd gen motor mount just like the srt 4's 2.4l

really... yeah i really dont have time for that ive heard the srt4 swap is a pain in the a$$ and would rather not go through that.. i just found a cheap 2.0 engine for a 2003 (and it has low miles) so I was wondering if it would fit but i guess ill stick with the 95-98 motor if i can find a good deal

you could just do then/a2.4 swap...but stick with 95-99 engines(2.0 or 2.4) for the fact 2000+enginesyou would need to do almostasmuch stuff as the srt-4 swap.

^^^Not quite as much as the SRT-4 swap, but some work would need to be done. Boxer, keep in mind that the 03 engine will not have an EGR port, so will would have to drill and open it up if you wanted to keep the EGR system.

the ecu (pcm) would not work and i think it has a different...well a lot of things are different

He would use the 1st gen PCM and wiring harness. There would be some splicing or changing out of some sensors though.

so the 95-98, 2.4 motor will bolt right up to were my 2.0 motor mounts are

nope need an adapter on the passenger side.... heres a link...

theres a few other things that you need to do like switch some wires around on your ecu. and modify your front motor mount. and use a different alternator bracket... just to think of a few things but its all easy stuff...even you can do it boxer... lol jk
