95 Neon loss of power SOLVED

I got this 95 Neon that I've been having this weird problem with for a while. When I;m going down the highway and I give it like half throttle it will start to lose power compaired to quarter throttle but if I put it to the floor it will acceleate fine. Also my gas mileage sucks, I've been getting like seriously 13MPG on the highway.

RE: 95 Neon loss of power

yeah 2500 Rpm on mine is when it grows balls as well, when I replaced my Timing belt and put it all back together it had major balls for 3 days, now it kinda has gotten slower off the line its not the worst right now but I'm not exactly asconfident in aoff the line raceas I was when it was running so good last week.

So right now I'm wondering what causes the change in off the line power as the 2500Rpm+ range is always consistant no matter the weather.

I'm having your problem as well with slow accelleration up to 2500 Rpm... :Dits not asslow as it used to be after my water pump and belt change but its not exactly a Rocket either off the line.

i would have to lean towards the clogged cat. especially if its still the stock 94. other wise look into your fuel filter. the recommend changing every 8-12k miles and who the hell actually does that? most of the time any power loss on my end has been the result of some kind of clogged something.

I'd imagine that you have a bad 02 sensor and it's not reporting correctly in closed loop and dumping fuel.
