pt, or neon engine?

alright so im thinking about either finding a dohc neon engine and just rebuilding that one, or if a pt cruiser engine would work as well, i've heard that the pt engine is a better engine but in my mind its pretty much the same engine, right now im looking for the cheapist price

RE: pt, or neon engine?

cheapest would be to just do the neon engine.....rebuilding prices are about the same, but getting either motor into the neon is a different story

just put a big block chevy motor in it... im sure that will be a topic on this forum tomorrow haha but no seriously i love the 2.4 swap but building up the stock neon motor would be the most practical and easy route to go in my opinion

lol, if this wasnt my everyday driver right now, i would prolly make the neon be able to run a big block 350 or go out of my way and get a olds cutless 442 engine and just make it a rediculess car that is litterally 70 percent engine

If you have a DOHC, you can use the PT valvetrain.

Screw that, get a 426 hemi, I saw a show where guys competed to build a bone stock engine with the most horsepower. The 427 had about 100 less horsepower than the hemi.
