well, its just I keep coming across good deals on 2.4 heads and was curious if they mated and anygood together. I want to go turbo, but not to positive yet. I really just want to get my head straight and get some ideas flowing before I make a decision.
But anyone have anyexperice with 2.4 heads on a 2.0 bottom end?

Not entirely true. Heads all have same bolt pattern. The oil drain differs from the 95-99 (small drain), 00-01 some small & some large top with small bottom, and 02+ large oil drain.
The 2001+ dohc heads have smaller exhaust valves and exhaust ports. Not ideal for any application. Better off using 95-99 dohc parts.

No, they do. The 2.4L engine has been in production since 1995. Same as the neon. The cylinder heads are exactly the same from 1995-1999 dohc models. The newer model 2.4L (2000+) are different by intake manifold bolt pattern, and the oil drain hole, cam profiles, exhaust valve and runner size, and valve train. The 2.0L has better flow, more aggressive cam profiles, and is the best head for the job. The 2.0L exhaust valve is just over 2mm larger than the 2000+ 2.4L head. Considering what is spent for 1mm oversized vales, the head is a nice upgrade for n/a or boosted 2.4L buildings. The ONLY advantage the 2000+ 2.4L head has over the 2.0L dohc, is that the srt turbo intake manifold bolts right up to it.
