98 neon engine swap
 

I'm trying to make most amount of hp possible,
i was thinking about swapping the 2L 4 cyl sohc for a old caddy engine (429) with tranny, any ideas, is it even possible? I want to get around 800 hp and i dont believe the 2.0L 4 banger will be able to do that hense why i was checking about the 429. again any advice or ideas are appreciated

Anything over 400-500 WHP is useless on a neon. There was a guy who got about 700 HP out his 2.4L swap with turbo. There was a video of it on youtube. Your best/easiest swap is a 2.4L engine from a mid-90's Dodge vehicle.

any stratus 2.4 built with srt4 internals or forged internals running a turbo will do you.. i have seen blown 408's rear mounted 2.4 rwd neons i have even seen a v6 stuffed on. a full suburu awd line in one to.... anything is possible.. the 408 was a drag only neon tubbed out and rwd not streetable... my 2.4 turbo on 19psi running a tdo5 turbo would light em up at 55 in 5th gear.... 700hp is insane and youll never see traction.
