Sometimes you can go to the manufacturers website and download instructions from there.
Another thing I have done in the past is find a store that sells that particular make/model and ask if it is OK to make a copy of the instructions. I ask because you have to open the box - which may be sealed - and some places won't let you.
If they say no (and that has only happened once), I then usually buy the item, take it home, make a copy, then return the item. Yes, it is not the best solution, but it works.
Maybe someone has a copy they can send to you. What Brand and model do you have? You did not mention that in your posting.
