Shifter all kinds of F&*KED UP
 

Ok my shifter is stiff as a mother fer. I can barely get it into first and secod gear let alone move it over to get to 3rd Plus. The thing is just unmoveable. Checked the shifter cables and from what I can see in the engine bay and center concsol everything is fine, minus I cant shift the thing. I dont have a clue what it might be. Anyone have any ideas what this might be and what can I do to fix it. Could this mean that I might have to replace the cables, and if so, should I go aftermarket with them?

maybe its just the shifter itself? could have something stuck in there, or maybe where the ball is needs to be greased up or something like that. if you do end up replacing the cables i'd go with aftermark, specially if you plan to do alot more to the car.

Could be the shifter bushings too.

Try the shift linkage may ATX got stuck one time but i cant speak for the MTX
