Default Cleaning TB.......

I just got a ATX TB from the JY today. The poor Neon was sitting with it's hood off, intake off, and the TB filled with water. I got it pretty clean but I was just wondering what to use to clean the wall of the TB on the inside. It's a little rough and I want to polish it up for the best airflow. I have a dremel but I didn't know if I should use the wire brush or aluminum or not. Thanks a lot.

1000grit sandpaper. Get it all wet and go to town. Works excellent

oh wait, do you mean rough as in dirty?

Either way, I cleaned the whole throttle body on my neon with carb cleaner + old toothbrush + q-tips. I used the toothbrush to do the sides to get the black **** off. But if you want it smoother (un-rough) wet sanding 1000grit is the way to go. 2000 would be better but would take more time... probably twice as long?

i used a dremmel on the inside of my intake manifold....got it all ground down, then used 200grit sand paper to get it down a little more....the more corse the sandpaper, the faster you can get it done.....i plan on doing the throttle body next

a wire brush and some PB blaster or WD40 should clean it up nice too, its just aluminum, that crap comes off pretty easy

Has anyone done that Half Shaft mod? I was checking out modded Neon TB's on ebay and noticed most of them had done this. It makes sense, if you look in your TB the shaft does block airflow and the screws are a little long.

That's not a very aerodynamic comment.

huh?

You want to fix a very very very slight restriction on your throttle body? Thats money not well spent as it probably wont do ANYTHING noticable, same with 1000grit sanding, but it looks cool
