Urgent Speedometer won't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

I need help! I've heard numerous things about this. I need to know why my Speedometer won't work. I've been told the gear could be bad. Used to periotically not work for a while and then would kick in, but only if it had sat for a while (i.e while i was a work or away). But today it hasn't worked at all not even this morning. What could it be. My odometer hasn't work since i bought the truck will it fix that too, if not what will. I was told the gauge was bad. But the i was also told that about the coolant gauge but it only needed a new temp sensor and it works fine. Plz help i've got tommorow off and i hope i could fix it while i'm not working. Again PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!! NEED EXPERT HELP.

The speed sensor on top of the rear axle? on top of the rear axle? How do i replace that or will it need dealer help. I'm not sure Dodge would work on my truck being a 1992. So it isn't the speedometer cable? Plus none of the light work on my dash info ceneter ABS, Gate Open, Service needed, Or the other one, what could that be? RESPOND QUICKLY!!!!!!!

A 1992 Dodge with no odometer and a speeedometer that works just some times, the problem sounds like in the speedometer head is going out on you. From what you have said
Second thing to check, undo the cable from under the dash and jack up your rear tires and spin both of your tires by hand or start your truck. If the cable spins it is the head for sure.

In neutral with starting it? I'll try it, but where under dash does it disconnect. I haven't found the cable at all. Where from the engine bay does it run. There is one from the throttle assemblt going behind the engine is that it?
