best carb size (CFM) for a stock 318
on i decided on a carb now need to know what size i need
i have an all stock 318 which at most will install headers when exhaust is needed.
what size carb do i need--not looking to over carb the motor just a daily driver

A 600 cfm would be ok and your cheapest route. Might be slightly big...a 570 Street Avenger would be better but they are more expensive. Not really that many smaller carbs unless you find an OEM carb with an appropriate CFM. A friend of mine had a 460 that had a 390cfm carb on it and actually got pretty decent gas mileage.

they also are making a 470 truck avenger think this would be too small?

Unless you're wanting lots of power, a 470 wouldn't be too small, but I think it would choke the engine a little.
