broken door jam/hinge 80's ram
 

The driver door on my power ram is opening up way past what its suppose to.

Looking at this metal plate that has pulled away from the jam, could I just remove the door hammer the plate back in and weld it from the inside? What other opinions/tips/rigging (besides getting another door) do I have?
