Default 93 W250 (Gas) Front Axle Shafts

I have a 1993 W250 with the 5.9 magnum V8, and (I believe) a Dana/Spicer 44 up front. The U joint in the left axle shaft is making noise, so it's in need of replacement. I was wondering if anyone makes direct-replacement axle shafts with CV-joints instead of the normal universal joints. I think Dodge started using them at some point in gen-2, so it seems reasonable that they could exist for gen-1 trucks. I just haven't been able to find them myself.

Are you sure that's a D44? I thought the heavier trucks had D60's?

So far as I know, dodge didn't use CV joints on the axles until the 1500's went IFS on the third gen trucks. I have never seen a second gen with CV's......

My understanding is that only the Cummins trucks had the 60 up front.

My memory could be faulty, but I have a recollection of seeing gen-2 trucks with CV joints up front, with a straight axle.

I seem to recall them being available in the aftermarket some time back, but, they aren't stock.

Found this via a internet search. Not showing dana 44 only dana 60. I think you will stick with u joints when you see the price.

At those prices, you could buy a life time supply of U-joints, greaseable at that, and a grease gun and grease. WOW!!!!

Either that, or pay someone to replace them a dozen or so times.
