Default 1991 Dodge W150 318

Can anyone tell me what the sensor is on the back axle?
(The 2 wire connector is broken)

Also does this mean that the vacuum hose is not attached to anything?
(red arrow pointing at end of the line symbol?)

good questions, sensor on axle could possibly be a speed sensor.
is the underhood vac diagram there? could be a vac cap or may be hooks to the air cleaner assembly.

Well possibly one down LOL. The diagram on the truck shows something different than what the current vacuum routing actually is......this could be good this could be bad.

The axle sensor is a speed sensor for the anti lock brakes.
What is depicted in the red circle is a capped off vacuum line.

Thank you SEAL. I should have thought of the ABS thing. The funny part is that the vacuum routing (physically) is routed the way the hanes manual shows it. The routing on the sticker under the hood is different than what is actually there. I am a little puzzled by this. The motor has low oil pressure when at idle and overheats easily. I guess I am going to have to break down and put a new motor in it. I found one at engines direct for 1225 with me using my own roller lifters, rockers, and push rods. the core is only 165. The company is local so I don't have to pay for shipping. My intentions are to rebuild the truck after I get a job LOL. The economy has put a lashing on me.
