Either a van or ramcharger.

I'm in the same situation as you, my 87 plastic tank is split right now and I've been calling around and there's a salvage yard in Austin that has a lot of these trucks, they quoted me $75 for a replacement.

That sucks, a buddy of mine had one for a while sitting behind his garage. There's this old guy in town who has tons of old dodge's lying around and he's been giving us parts for dirt cheap. Try driving around farm country looking for yards littered with old dodges, usually the owners are pretty cool and will sell stuff.

my dad has atleast one plastic gas tank, i am not sure if he kept the one from our 78, but they were both plastic, the only problem was the other one was from a 91 ramcharger and its got the pump on it because its for a fuel injector...

The 30 gal tank on my 86 is plastic.
And the sending unit and pump can be yanked out and the oldschool stuff dropped in iirc. |

The ont on the 78 is an after market, the origional rusted all the way through on the top and when i stopped it would dump gas everywhere. I got the tank from a junkyard for $50 i think, i had to pull it off and everything, but it was easy and cheap.
