1991 Won't stay started...
I hope someone can help me out. My truck (1991 Dodge Ram 150 5.3L) has sat for over a year, mice got into the wiring. The wiring harness has been repaired by matching the color codes. Battery wouldn't hold a charge, bought a new battery. Added about 4 gallons of fuel and when I would start it I could see fuel going into throttle body. Truck would start but only for a second and shut down. Reroute vacuum lines and same thing. Checked voltage and function of the ASD relay and all is ok there. Started truck and countinously sprayed carb/choke cleaner in throttle body and engine stayed running as long as I kept spraying. Replaced fuel filter and the engine ran for about 30 seconds than shut off. Disconnected Idle speed control actuator and the engine stayed running at idle. If I rev the engine, it chokes out and shuts off. While the engine was running I reconnected the ISC connector and let it idle for 15 min for the computer to relearn everything. After 15 min, tried to rev it up and it choked out again. So, my problem is it will run in idle but shut off when the engine is revved up.
Anyone has an idea what I need to do next?
Thanks!!

Check the spray pattern of the injectors.
Engine running. Look down in the throat of the throttle body to check the injector cones. There should be a fine cone of fuel with no gaps and no streams at the base of each injector. The cones should reach the sides of the TB. Low ambient light and a flashlight shows the cones best.

Hey not sure if u fix this or not but my 01 has been sitting for 2.5 years. and i have the same issue. Start it and keep ur foot on the gas keeping the rpms between 1000-2000, u can go higher but it pointless.
I have to sit there for 15-20min if my battery is completely dead.
Oh if u leave it charged over night u shouldnt have to do this, only when u use a booster pack is when i have to. Hope this helps some people.
Also I have a brand new battery and because i have a alarm it drains it if i dont let it run for 15min every 2 weeks.
