Sorry. My mistake. I personally would have left it until I knew what the timing was. But a timing light is a good start. Got a manual?
Nope, but I looked it up on the net but would love to see an excerpt from the actual manual. BTW I have not tried to set it yet, but KNOW it is a tad off because not only does it not have quite as much power as it did, but it backfired twice thru the TBI when it was cold on a couple cold starts like the timing is off. I will check it first but KNOW the timing is off. Either that, or the new module is defective....

Thanks that verifies my findings! I'll look for that sticker to see the correct timing which I have been told and read is 10BTDC.

Default It is done!

I FINALLY got the chance to do my timing yesterday. Man, it was WAY out! I am beginning to think the PO retarded the timing to get better mileage. It is supposed to be 10d BTDC and it was so retarded i could not even see the timing mark till I advanced it like 15 degrees! Then it was right at 10btdc. So as a test i set it at 8btdc because I have heard add a little advance for altitude, 10d for every 2000ft but I didn't want to try that much initial advance so set it at 8btdc and it runs better than ever!
