My truck needs front brakes soon. How hard is it to change them, have
not done this type of caliper? What type should get semi metallic or what? I have 2 and someone asked if i want to sell one if i do how much?thanks
I havnt actually changed front pads on these trucks but in general they are pretty simple. As for what type, semi-metallic is the most used kind. You can get ceramic which is supposed to be quieter.
changing front brake pads is a very simple job. you remove 2 bolts that hold these metal plates that hold the caliper down. then pull the caliper straight up. 1 of the pads stays with the caliper and the other will most likely stay on the bracket. you will most likely need something like a c-clap to push the piston back in.
What are you selling? A truck? Or spare brake pads? Brakes on this type of truck is simple. The biggest job for me is getting all 8 lug nuts on and off.
