Looking for specs... '77 & '78

I am looking at a '77 Dodge 3/4 ton pickup, and a '78 dodge 1/2 ton power wagon, package deal.

I've looked quite a bit for axle information, but can't seem to find a clear answer.

The '78 1/2 ton has been swapped with a GM 10bolt front and 12bolt rear. Neither of which are what I wanted for my swap.

But the seller thinks that the '77 has Dana 60's front and rear. Does this sound accurate, or does it most likely have a Dana 44 up front? Is the D60 semi floating?

The '78 has a kinda rough body, at least the cab, which I probably would scrap, don't know the condition of the '77's body. The '78 has a strong 440ci with a 4 speed trans, np203, but has a clutch linkage issue. The '77 has no engine, but a 4 speed and t-case. The main things I need is a frame and axles. I don't know what I'll do with the rest.

What do you think is a fair price to pay for these trucks?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!

I'd chose the 3/4 ton. I have a 78 power wagon(1/2 ton). It has a dana 44 up front and a Chrysler 8 1/4 out back. Usually the 3/4 tons had 60's in the front and 70's out back. There where some differences depending on the body configuration. The 3/4 ton is a great candidate for a magnum swap. See if you can id the axles with this. #3 the model will be the rating 44 60 70 etc.

Moparite,

Thanks for the info!

What I want are dana 60's front and rear, on a short bed frame, so I can throw on my '65 cab and a custom flatbed for a off road rig. I am planning on building up a LA 360 to put in it.

The trucks are a package deal, btw. What do you think is an honest price?

Thanks again.

I really don't know what they are going for. It also depends on where you are. A place out in the sticks they will fetch more than around a big city.
