Hi all! I have a 1981 Ram 4x4 with a 3 speed trans. I'm looking to purchase a 1993 2wd with the AOD. I'm really looking to know how to gather info about the trans's and find out if they are possible to swap easily and if so any suggestions. Thanks

 

It's possible but since the 2wd and the 4wd have different output shafts/housings it would need to torn down and converted. Easier to just find the one you need either 2wd or 4wd. You also need to move the transfer case/bracket back enough for the longer od trans. The drive shafts will need to be made to fit also.
