truck won't start
 

My 1988 1/2 tonwith 318/auto wont start! It died on the highway a month ago.I had no power at the coil or distributor. I installed a remanufactured MEC,nothing.I've installed a new coil,distributer pickup and ASD relay and still nothing.I have power to the dist.and coil only when i jump the ASD.what am I missing?

What's a MEC? Is it French for ECM? ;)

Seriously though.. can you get reman'd ECM's? They're only ~$30 new. Have you checked the ballast resistor for continuity?

ooh, 88 318 is TBI eh? bummer, don't know much about it.

It seems like the link between the power and ASD when jumped. I had a simular problem on my 89 and replaced the dist and nothing until we went through two new pick ups. hope this helps some.
