Default seats

a while back i took out the bench seat from my 93 d150,an scored a set of buckets from a ramcharger in mint cond.
i need to support the mount to the floor better, any ideas??
driver side-when sitting in truck the left side bolted back up to the same holes that the bench did. the right side ?? what to do to support it ??
pass side- the right side bolted in the original holes, the left side??
in need of some ideas, now that it is my daily driver. thank you

Hey Aje,

Why isn't it as easy as marking it and drilling some holes? Is the floor pan the wrong shape or something else? I saw some Ramcharger seats a while back and thought about putting them in also but they had a tilt forward hinge across the front two bolts from what I remember but I don't remember how the back mounted.

I have been looking at some aftermarket bucket seats that use a bench seat frame and have a console in the middle. Can your Ramcharger seats be fabbed onto the old bench frame somehow? Or maybe purchase an extra pair of bench mounts from the boneyard so that you could mount two on each bucket - one on each side of each seat. Not sure how it would bolt in but it seems feasible.

hey sixgun,
the hinge is on the pass side it just unbolts and the factory holes are under it in the seat frame. the problem is 2 of the holes on each side have no cross member under the floor board,so right now its just bolted to the floor sheet metal with big fender washers. the floor sheet metal is just to thin for support. ramchargers and club cabs have a metal support spot welded to the bottom side of the floor board.would be near impossible to get that off a truck in the bone yard. thanks

to many things going on wright now,but i decided to get the bench seat mounts, and weld up a square tube frame, from one to the other. then i will remount the buckets to the frame i built. then it will bolt back up to the original bench seat holes with the frame supports underneath,so it will be plenty strong. they both will adjust front to back together, cause they share the same frame like a bench seat.
it will make my console a little, but that is better to reach your drink,or also use as arm rest. thank you
