Default Hurst NV 3500 Shifter from Jeep to fit Dakota?

So I just called Hurst and they told me they have dicontinued the NV 3500 short shifter and they have none left. While on their website I noticed that their shifter for the Jeep Wrangler had the NV3500 listed also. I looked at pictures of both the Jeep and Dakota shifters and they look identical. Does anyone know if the shifter for the Jeep will work for the Dakota?

It may work with some modifications. Don't expect it to fit perfectly.

If I remember right one member bought one and didn't like the way it shifted, he said it was worse.

There was a post on it not to long ago. Try a search on this site. It had the part number for it. You can try to Google it maybe you can find one. Also www.summitracing.com had it listed as discontinued. See if it had a picture to compare it to the Jeep one.

Well, Jeeps got NV3550s, not 3500s as far as i know. I dunno it the shifters interchange. I'd also imagine the shift lever is shorter for the jeep.

It was me that had a Hurst and sold it. Yes it is very tight and short shifting but the noise and the extra effort required from the shorter throws got old.

It looks like according to this site some modern Jeeps do have the NV3500

Okay this post kinda might look strange but this will be put into the FAQ2 for others since it is on topic.

The Dakota NV3500 Hurts Competition Hurst Shifters Part number# 3910155is discontinued. It is unavailable. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HUU-3910155/?rtype=10

Here is a quick DIY on the shifter. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-reations.html

Jeep has a NV3500. There is a shifter available for it. At this time no one knows if it will work or what kind of medications it may need to work.

One member didn't like it anyways.
