I have been towing a popup that is 1700 pound dry and packed to about 2500 lbs 10 yrs with my 98 caravan and the past 2 yrs with my 2008. I have had no problems with power. My camper has brakes on it and I have them wired up so that takes care of the problem someone mentioned. I got a very expensive brake controller that does a wonderful job with that. The AWD and some of the newer caravans have load leveling which helps for keeping all the weight balanced. It all works very nicely. As far as getting more power I found that getting the fuel injectors cleaned had the biggest bang for the buck. I never found anything after market that would boost power that wasn't found out to be a rip off. If anyone has a decent advice for tuning a dodge to get better power and gas mileage I'd love to hear it because with all my stop and go driving I'm only getting 13mpg avg and 11 when I tow. Yea, I could have gotten a truck and gotten that gas mileage but there are so many cool bells and whistles in the caravan with the my-gig system I couldn't pass it up. Plus extra comfort and room for travel.
Its been a great vehicle for going camping.
