Rear Bumper
 

I have a 2002 Dakota SLT and the rear bumper has a big rust hole in it. I Called the dealer to see about the 5 year Anti-corrosion warranty but it only goes up to 100k miles. Any thoughts on were I could get a rear chrome bumper for a reasonable price, dealer wanted $460. I'm in the process of checking junk yards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, how hard is it to replace by myself? It looks fairly simple, anybody done this already?

From what I've heard, it's pretty simple, just a few bolts, and you can remove and reinstall it.

I don't have a time span on how long it'll take. But give yourself a couple hours... maybe?

i did the back bumper on my truck, took maybe half and hour and a bottle of rust buster to get it off,( allow extra time if you dont have air tools) and about the same to put it back on, just no rust buster, and an extra person to hold it onto the mounts while you start the bolts would have helped, i had to do mine alone in the middle of a snow storm,( in a garage, but it was still cold as hell, and i did mine alone, would not make that mistake again)

MINT!!!! theres only a lil chip in the paint on the side of it. other then that its perfect.... well besides from being purple;)

I'll let her go for $100. but I dont know what shipping would be. I'm about 2hours north of toronto ontario.

Thanks for the offer, but my bumper is chrome with gray plastic.
