Default HID's - yes or no?

Has anyone put HID headlights on their Dakotas? Was it worth the initial cost and can you really see better at night? Thanks for any info.

Default RE: HID's - yes or no?

I put Pilot 8000K HID's in my 1PC headlights, (Yeah yeah, HIDS in a reflector housing is a "no no"... Whatever) I keep them aimed down to reduce glare and YES they are a hell of a lot brighter than the factory lights. The only problem is, in a reflector housing you do have to keep them aimed pretty low to avoid somone high beaming you every other car, which limits the distance you can see, but that's what high beam is for.

My high beam is a regular halogen bulb, so it isn't as bright, but it does project further. But I rarely use high beam, with the HIDS, where it does shine is just like daylight so i usually keep it on that.

You can get Bi-Xenon (HID high and low beam), but they are more expensive.
