haha, i bought some O2 simms guys, so let the fun begin. what i need to know...... what exactly do i do with them, like which O2's do i replace with them? (keep in mind it's a 2001, so there are 3 cats and multiple O2's). also, whats the best way to gut my cats? and by best, i mean easiest. lol. thanks again all.



P.S. after a week aand $1500 i got my truck back, new transmission and all :D funny thing, when i dropped my trans pan, a nice hunk of metal fell into my lap. aaah, good times....

if so the best way to gut your cats....
take a piece of exaust tube with an outer diameter a hair smaller than the ID of your cat inlet/outlet. then put the pipe into the cat, hammer it in, you will essentially cut the guts, they should stick into the pipe, and you should be able to knock it through the cat

you should only need to keep one cat up there for inspection, get a cheap universal one to do this

all we get here in chicago is the gas cap and the computer test. no sniffer and no inspection. good times.

EASY THERE! thats a lot of work, so i may as well wait until i get some long tubes.

to you.. anything is a lot of work.... i dont have emissions here, im too lazy to gut my cats. plus the v6 needs as much low end as possible

it would sound worse, actually.

I dont see how strait piping it would be more work than taking the cats off and gutting them and putting them back on. Just cut them off and weld in replacement pipe. May as well try to find some long tubes while your at it and put them on at the same time. and fox is right, dont gut the cat on a 3.9, it'll just sound worse and you'll lose even more low end. I knocked a big hole in my cat when I did my exhaust and for the 2 days I drove it with the hole in the cat it had like no power at all and sounded like a honda. I promptly had a guy at the muffler shop just weld a patch over the hole for 20 bucks.
