Rear Window Replacement Problems
4 Attachment(s)
I had the broken rear slider window replaced by a local glass shop. It took them a very long time just to remove the old one.
I drove my son's Dak tonight for the first time on the freeway and heard a lot of wind noise (unlike him, I don't have the radio on when I drive). Upon investigation, I discovered large gaps between the interior trim and the new rear slider window (non-Mopar). The gaps were filled with sealant at the cab, but when I looked at in the light, it looks like there is a good-sized trim piece missing. Outside, the window does not fit flush against the cab in some places. It looks like crap; I suspect the shop botched the job. Is there a black plastic trim piece that goes with the window to hide the ugliness? I'll try to get a couple of pix... |
grab some pics, your talking about parts of the truck that i rarely study in detail. haha.

Okay, I think I have it figured out - the gasket was installed backwards!
I looked at another Dak today and sure enough, the gasket is supposed to be inside. :icon_doh: |
Yeah I was going to say that doesnt even look like the right gasket. so instead of doing it right and spending a little bit more time doing it they half assed it and now they have to restart all over again

I don't think I'd be taking it back to Cletus and Bubba for another shot at it though. Looks like they could end up doing more damage than good with those kinda skills.

I think I'll just have to train the installer.
