I researched what I could, checked allpar.com, couldn't find too much information on how this transmission has changed over the years, if it has at all. Anyone here have knowledge on this and can say how it has changed since its introduction in 1999 in the Jeep Grand Cherokee?

 

other than programing to change it from the 45rfe to the 545rfe it is the same save for minor differences.
