180 deg. thermostat and lower shroud

About a month ago, I hit a deer with my '00 Dakota and it broke the lower shroud for the fan. Anyone have any ideas where I can find one? All of the local salvage yards don't have any around.

Also, does anyone have any lines on a 180 degree thermostats for the 4.7? All that I can find around here are the 195s but I would prefer a cooler one if it is available.

airram.com has a 180 tstat for like 44 bucks. lower fan shrowd do you really need it? try rock auto.

ive look at napa and orileys. i think the only place we can get them is from airram. for the 5.2 its easier to find.

this one works though, and its more expensive

ok so i redeem myself a little bit, aparently according to this thread and the first couple posts i read, u can use one from a 5.2/5.9 and just dremel a little notch in the side and it'll work for the gasket

Thanks for the quick responses. I figured that I could alter one to fit but wasn't sure where to start without going through a parts store's inventory with a set of calipers for a correct fit.

I figure that if the shroud is complete, then perhaps the fan will work more efficiently. It feels as if the fan is sucking air through the front alright but I am not much on having broken things on my truck.

if you have the pieces you can get some sheet metal and pop rivet the shroud back together......if not, maybe you could "modify" another fan shroud and use it to rebuild yours...

my .02 cent solution
