Code won't go away!

I have a 98 dakota with the 5.2 4wd. I have owned it for 3 years and about every 6 months I get a code of 1899. I know it has something to do with the neutral safety switch ( I think). I can clear the code and then it will be fine for around 6 months. Any help or suggestions, would be appreciated.

Did you ever get a new switch? I think they are about 20.00 for them. Most of the time when a code comes up is because there is a fault with a item so im guessing that your switch is going bad or the wiring to the switch is shorting out or something
