Just got transfer case rebuilt, now service 4 wheel light comes on after 20-30 secs after starting truck, but all my indicator lights come on, upon starting, then go out and wont shift into 4 hi or lo...2002 Dakota, NP 233D, 4.7 liter, automatic, possible sensor problem or decoder motor, any help would be appreciated
i hear nothing energizing or activating, the lights dont even indicate which mode i am in, the lights come on at start up, then go off , then 15-20 secs later service 4 wheel indicator on dash comes on, screwy thing about it is everything worked fine before rebuild, and Driveline Advantage did only mechanical work to case(which was cracked in 3 places so they rebuilt internals)
yes i took it back only to be told, they only did mechanical work to transfer case, i removed and installed t-case my self, saved around 400, i was wondering if it could be the sensor on side of t-case, dont wanna start throwing parts at it
that is why i was leaning toward the sensor, but i hope it's not the motor those r a lil pricey lol, trying to find a check for either/or to isolate the problem
