98' Dakota Starting then Dies
I have recently bought a 1998 Dodge Dakota SLT 4x4 Regular cab and I am having issue with it starting. When I turn it over sometimes the RPMs will go to 1500 then slowly drop to 0 and then stall or the RPMs will go nowhere and i will have to hit the gas to get it going but as soon as i let off the gas it stalls, If i shift it into gear and go while i'm gassing it after a second of driving it it will stay running just fine. Any help?
Thanks -Tyler. :icon_confused: |
sounds like the iac but it could also be the tps they are both on the tb and also clean the tb while your at it

had a 1997 dakota with a 3.9 i think v-6 and was replacing the pcv valve every 4 months or so , that helped, for 3 bucks worth a try

I had the same problem in my truck it was a loose battery cable because after I would go under the hood to mess with the cables thats when it wouldnt want to start and wouldnt idle but cant hurt to check the tps if you have a multi meter it takes 5 min to see if its dying.
