Default Overheating-2002 dakota 3.9v6 auto 2wd

My truck overheated over a month ago because of a crack in the radiator. I put several egg whites in to plug the leak temporarily. It started leaking again and I put a few more egg whites in. I eventually replaced the radiator. I also replaced the upper hose assembly after a crack under the radiator cap caused it to explode and overheat. I replaced the thermostat with a cheap one from autozone.
All was fine and then it overheated again. I turned on the heater and cold air blew out. I replaced the cheap thermostat with a more expensive one and all seemed well. Until last nite I drove about 10 miles to and 10 miles back and it started to overheat again. I turned the heater on and it was blowing hot and cold off and on but the engine temp didn't drop much.
Could this be the water pump? Could it be clogged or damaged from the egg whites?
Is there a way to test it without removing it?
Thanks
