Engine won't start

I recently removed the auto trans to replace the freeze plugs and reinstalled tranny, job went well, now engine refuses to start. I did forget to disconnect the battery and the starter terminals manage to make contact with the frame. Apparently I blew a fuse somewhere. I have pulled every fuse that is visible and none are blown. There is no spark at the coil. Is there a fuse somewhere other than in the obvious fuse boxes, inside dash panel and underhood, that i'm missing.Vehicle is a 97.

Look for in-line fuses in the wires. That will be your problem. I did the same thing on a 95 dakota and it ended up being an inline fuse.

Does anybody have anyidea where the fuse in question might be?

If I can get to it, I will try to get a couple pictures of them.

Inside the PDC fuse box under the hood, look for the ASD (Automatic Shutdown Relay) and swap it out for another known to be good relay inside the fuse box. You may have shorted it out when the battery cables got together. Also check the main fuse, I believe its a 140 amp, in the fuse box also. Good luck!

agreeed X2. this is usually the issue.

Seems like you can also bypass the ASD to troubleshoot too.

All the afore mentioned fuses have been replaced with new ones. No luck. There must be an inline fuse somewhere in the system. I simply can't locate it. The manual is of no help.

Wait a minute? Your engine rotates but just wont start??? or does it even rotate?

Engine cranks, all lights work, fuel pump works, all dash lights work, but there is no spark at the coil or dist.
