i am actually at work right now, so what i will do is take a snap shot of my dak for ya'll. As far as mods, cold air, colder NGK sparks, MSD ignition, 31/2 cut back with 40 series magnaflow single muffler. This summer will have a 408 build done with SC for Christmas.

[:icon_couchhide: So here are quick snap shot of what my truck looks like. mostly stock outside, Blacked out R/T decal 10% tint all around and i am taking the window wind breakers off. hoping to lower it but not before i save up for 408.

Welcome to here. Not a bad lookin ride man. I'm currently doing a R/T Clone right now from my 97 CC 2wd sport. it's a 5.2 5sp so it's already fun to drive I've added some R/T wheels and am looking for the flares. haven't droped it yet and I'm still not real sure what I wana do about the engine yet.

i have a SC R/T and its my daily driver lets put it this way i get anywhere from 4-8 miles to a gallon babying it. If i decide to play my highest is around 1.5mpg ----- you can find flates on www.dakotart.com or go on ebay those are your too best bets. Or check out your junk yards, i have found alot of dacks that people just didnt want to deal with. im sure you remember cash for clunkers guess where those cars go if they worth anything? junkyard!. good luck and keep in touch id like to run with you one day |

hey thanks alot! when i got it, it was mess the rear bumper still fed up from when my father in law lost traction and nailed a pole haha. i will put up some better picture of R/T ones i have a photoshoot its coming up next month. |

Yeah, I love my 5sp. it's a lot stronger than my 99 R/T was. I never realized just how much torque ya loose through hydraulics. either way, I'm getting ready to have to do something about the trans now since it has just recently started loosing 3rd and is still on the stock clutch at 270k. I'm seriously considering a 5.7 6sp swap.

throw a in a HEMI seen that done, fits right in with new trans with minor welds and cuts. look it up on dakotart.com think someone did it there. yea you right about that automatics are POSs!! i hate the fact R/T doest have a 6speed option. but hey i've done some research and there is 1 independent company that makes a 6spd for r/t for under 5k haha wish i was rich! but good luck to you on your clutch i know they pain in the ass to change in cars not sure about our trucks. add me as a friend its seems like you have alot of knowledge. |
yeah, I've seen the aftermarket 6 speeds from keisler engineering. Damn I wish. They have a couple vids on you tube of both the synchro and non synchro versions. I really need to go to a 6 or even 7 sp unless I change my rear end. I'm running 265/60/17's with a 3.92 rear gear. I have no trouble making turns or easing to a red light and never even leave 5th gear if I catch 'em just right. I can lug it down to about 25 mph and still accelerate 1/2 way decent without much of an incline and about 30-35mph if theres a hill.

i have 255/50/17 on stock r/ts love em. no issues. yea keizler trans that was them. sick 6 speed for r/t not sure about the price i am sure it is way out of my budget stay in touch i am going down to oregon for 5 days so wont be on for a while. maybe i'lldrop by junk yards out there see if i can locate those flairs for you. |
Cool, I really appreciate it. I'm back and forth between B-ham and Louisiana all the time so maybe we can get together next time I'm through. I wont be headed back through there for at least a week but I can't stop then cause i'll be driving my wifes honda and that just wouldnt be right. This is the wrong time of year for going to Oregon, I'd freeze my a$$ off. Have a safe trip.
