haven't touched the truck in weeks, so i dumped the exhaust
i still got the flowmaster 40 on my 4.7. but a friend of mine has a dropped v6 that was louder then mine with a dumped 44 i think. so i got the sawzall out and took off most of the tailpipe. i can't believe how much louder and deeper it sounds, driving thru town is when its the deepest at 30 mph. ive seen guys on here do this to but seeing it in person made me want to do it.
mufflers had maybe 30k miles on it and 2 NY winters. 100_2255.jpg
Before I did anything, I put a turndown on mine...just under the cab...pseudo-straightpipes Little too loud...at least for my comfort with the police...
I got the stainless Deltaflow40...still seems in good shape...not NY winters, but not too far off...
You need to get a drive by vid. I did the same with mine when I had the magnaflow but it was DO so it had more a whistle to it than a rumble. so thats when I decided to just loose the muffler. Sounds much better and its really not even loud in the cab.
I actually like 40 with full pipe.. Guy in a V6 came up besides me in a gas station yesterday and had a dump and was louder/deeper but of course had that annoying-ness to it.. but thats just me.. as long as your happy with er'
i am without a muffler. just a pipe in its place. so it has the stock output in the rear. comforting sound in the cab and an intimidating sound if you are next to me. lol.
its not really bad on the highway. its the same as it was with a tailpipe when your cruising. but it is loud if you pass some one. heres a driveby in a parking lot so i didn't go that fast but you should hear it better in this one.
