In my 1999 Dakota, the blower motor quit working. It was working occasionaly when I got it. Then it just quit. I can't find the blower motor or blower resistor. Any help.
well, to get to your blower motor, you'll have to remove the dashboard. It is a pain to do, but you might as well replace your blower motor and resistor while you're at it.
I thought about venturing into the dash removal but never had the nerve to do it it’s so darn complicated and you need about two friends to make it somewhat easy to do.
Good luck on thatA shop will charge $500 to $800 just to do the dash removal only.
Removing the dash is a multi-stage operation like about 30 things you must do. Cost so much because it’s a major pain in the *** air bag you just disconnect with caution unless you want your head ripped off when it explodes in your face.
I am in the middle of the same FUN project on a 97. Yeah there is at least 30 thirty things to do. The mechanical part is one and then there is a whole ****load of electrical connectors to take apart. Every one of the connectors is different so they release differently.
I don’t have the ***** or back to do that kind of crazy work it’s a mess and an aggravation removing the dash I worry about messing up my wiring and if you do something wrong and need to re-do it WOW I would rather shoot my foot.
