Default Best way to store aluminum heads

I am just wondering what the best way to store a set of used aluminum heads are if I cannot or don't have an engine block to bolt them down to? I have a 4.7L engine block I am going to scrap but want to keep the heads, worried about just setting them on a shelf and having them warp over time.

Default good question

Good question wish I had an answer for you but I would do this don’t work on the heads till you are ready to do the whole thing at one time that way if they do warp a bit you will fix it at rebuild time and install.

Make sure to sit them flat not tilted in any way.

If I can squeeze room for another stand and block in the garage i'd do it, but I am really trying to clean up. It still may happen that I just keep the whole block in there simply to store it, but I assume when you buy an aftermarket head it isn't stored on the block of course, but not sure how they keep them from warping. I was thinking about setting it on a piece of glass.

Get a peice of flat styro foam and sit it on that. That's what I did when I rebuilt my motor.
