Default Dakota R/T?

Just curious what is everyone's thoughts on these trucks? I know their not the fastest but, they are cool in their own right IMO. I like the stock look better than the custom look. What is the common issues with these trucks? I know the transmission is a problem. Not sure of the issues with the transmissions other than a governor solenoid I think. Anyways, like I said just a random thought at this point. TIA

Stock form when properly maintained the trannys arent that bad. Its when you start adding power and bigger tires. As far as other problems rust is a issue when you are talking about the newest 2nd gen dak is 10 years old. Wheel wells, rockers, cab corners and front fenders are all problem areas. Ball joints are another problem but most aftermarket greaseable ones take care of that problem. Other than that they are decently solid trucks. I wish I could find another cheap one for a DD. I miss my 98!

Its also 2,000 miles and 30hr away lol I think for a dd/work truck id just get a single cab 5 speed. I'd really like an early 90's cummins but I dont have 8-10k to drop on a clean truck.

I had a red '99. Traded it in on a '05 hemi Magnum. My wife still has her white 2000. Both were bought new. Had no problems with either and enjoyed them both.

Sorry, I haven't posted in a while. Just wanted to say thank you for the information. I am still torn on a few things but, I'll see what happens. I've been getting the itch for extra room and speed again not that these are the fastest but, hey at least it's comparable to an old B-Body with a lightly modded 318.
