The problem I see with an S allthread fix is you may find your air hat will not seal 100% and may come lose on you.
Is a very minimal if any increase in power worth getting dirty air down your intake?
I say make sure the air hat seals 100% and just cut out as much as you can.
I question if you get any benefit from this at all its more mind over matter you think it helps.... I think it runs better.

Well.. I'm finished with mixed impression..
First here are the images; not quite like the original but i think it gets the job done just the same. First it's 88 and humid as all get up.. so not a fair test but not as 'pepy' however I noticed by the real time MPG at different speeds i was +3-4 reading.. so I call that an epic WOOT.
I drove around for a good while to see if it holds while the ECM adjusts its curve.. so far its holding strong.. I'll have to circle back around on this but if it truly holds 3-4 mpg gain.. I'm going to LULZ.. but to be honest I probably assume it will only be 1 mile or so difference if anything.. but lets see what happens.
I was quite intimidated by this project once i started.. but once i got going on it with some decent progress it was better. I messed up here or there but i think i got it ok. Good enough for me. I'm not trying to create a drag truck or nothing.
