durango/dakotabumper and fender flare bed liner coating
5 Attachment(s)
i know this was on a durango but would be the same on a dakota, just to give you an idea. yesterday and today i fixed some rust on the front bumper of the rango and used spray bed liner to cover it inside and out after sanding. it looked so good i decided to do my fender flares too.
i started using rust-oleum brand. it made a good base coat but sprayed in blotches. i bought some dupli-color bed liner at napa and it was 10 time better. the dupi-color covered very good and even. if you do this make sure you scuff up the paint before spraying. That looks better than I would have thought. Not bad at all.

yeah, i'm going to do the top part of the rear bumper too, to match the front.

I like it. Right now my front bumper and grill are plasti-dip sprayed.
|
I used the Duplicolor Bed Liner with Kevlar and I don't like it.
Looks great when you put it on but doesn't hold up well after a year. |

I don't know how close to the bed liner spray rhino lining this stuff is but my black rhino lining bed started turning an off shade of gray in only 5 years in the hot Arizona sun.
Kind of sucks and ugly, armor all helps but also made the bed slippery as hell and I had to scrub it off for fear I would fall on my @ss. |
if i have to redo it again in a few years, i'm ok with it. i just done this to cover the rust on the front bumper and the bottom of the back hatch and it's cheaper to do this myself than to have it painted. should be good for awhile i sprayed the inside of the bumper too.
