So its been a while

Hey guys, I know its been a while but I've got caught up in life. So I'm looking into getting the Dakota regeared sometime next year. I was kind of wanting some opinions on the products I am planning on using.

US Standard 4.11 gears, I have a 4x4 so I'd have to get different size gears for the 8.00" IFS up front and the 9.25" rear. Randy's says it'll be ~$630 w/o taxes. Since I was going to be in the rear already I was wanted to also swap out the old OE LSD for the rear. I was thinking a Yukon Dura Grip, it is a helluva lot cheaper than a Detroit and from reviews is smooth on D2D driving.

Does anyone have some input on the current way I'm looking at doing this? Questioning my gear choice, better places to buy, tips on how to go about it, etc.?

What's your goal?

What gears do you have in it now?

OE locker? Do you mean LSD? They didn't come OE with a locker.

Ya that's what I meant, I edited it to "LSD". Well there is no "goal" in the long run, however, I'm really tired of the stock 3.55 gears w/ the automatic.

I was looking at 3.90 gears, however running a 5-speed/auto means I can run 4.11 on the highway at the same rpm as a 3.90 in the 4-speed. But right now almost all my driving is GA suburbs which means your only going 55 mph at most w/ a lot of stop and go during rush hour. So the gearing will help with city mpg and will aid acceleration which is what I wanted. But not kill me when I drive on the highway. There is a small reason for the change because of towing. My vehicle is the emergency back up to tow my family's camper if my parents' pickup has issues. The camper weighs 7,000 lbs and I want to assure the the truck has adequate power to handle the weight. The most I move around is 4,000 lbs (1,000 cargo/3,000 trailer) and the gearing starts to show its inadequacy at that weigh, note the gears are rated to tow 4,500 lbs. But while towing is normally the reason people want higher gears, I want it for acceleration/city mpg purposes more.
